Hope your day and summer is going well.
My summer has been very relaxing. Something that I was looking forward to ever since school let out. I don’t know about you but I’m a person who loves to relax and just take my time with things. With that said, I guess I’ve taken too much time, because work for me will be back in affect within the next 3 weeks.
If you’ve read any of my other blogs you would know I’m not a fan of working for someone else. My problem is working for myself isn’t as profitable as I thought it would be. Mainly because I’m a very shy introverted person. Most business strides and victories I’ve made have come through people I know closely because they see how bad I want it and they know first hand that I have a great product. The problem comes into affect when I’m trying to sell to a wider range of people and they aren’t sure of what I’m selling because they have no tangible proof that my product is as great as I and others claim it to be.
I hadn’t realized it, but I’ve been selling soap for about 2 going on 3 years now and I have yet to develop a consistent customer base. I’m sure the reason that is, is do to me and my inconsistencies. I guess that is because of my constant creativeness overtaking my need to be consistent. Consistency through out the summer has been my top priority. I also understand that it would have to be, because this is the most effective way to build trust with my audience.
You may remain loyal by way of reading my blogs or becoming a follower. But as far as investing something more than time; I understand that consistency would be needed in order to cross that threshold. Never the less, I truly thank you all for rocking with me with all my flaws and constant missed posts.
If you’re someone like myself, who has idea after idea and has a hard time sticking with one coupled with a shy personality, you will have a very hard time making it working for yourself. I’m not saying it’s impossible, I’m only saying you have a steep hill ahead of you. Please don’t take this as me shooting down your dreams. I in no way want you to stop dreaming and working on yourself. I’m only saying work on your communication, extroversion, and entrepreneurial skills before you get to your end of the rope (quitting your job to work for yourself). I wish I took this advise a long time ago. Maybe I would be a lot more financially successful if I did.
