Who decided that all we needed to decompress from the week is 2 days?…. I
would really love to know who that idiot was! 2 days just isn’t enough to get everything done that you weren’t able to do throughout the week. I mean think about it…. Most of the things you need to do require you to frequent a business that’s open Monday to Friday 8-5 most times. What good does that do me, when I also work a job that is open those hours. In order for me to get things done during this time I would have to miss out on going to work. Furthermore, I’m missing out on my money because I have to do something for myself. But is really for my employer.
The way I see it, when you go to the doctors office you’re really getting checked up and taken care of because you want to make sure you’re okay. I know what I’m about to say may sound a little pessimistic, in all honesty it kind of is. Getting your health checked is for you but really for your employer. You’re the one who has to deal with the illness you contract. True enough. But for many of us living in America, we live and breathe work. It is a way of life for us. Not because we want it to be, but because that’s the way it is. Inflation is kicking the ass of most of us. The cost of everyday goods have skyrocketed. As we’ve seen with the egg issue. Normal everyday things have become that much harder to obtain because of it’s price point, for a lot of people.
I’m not going to pretend to know everything, because I don’t. I only know about what I see, and what I see is people working more than a day job to make ends meet. Many people I know have to constantly think of a side hustled because they’re not making enough to keep up with everyday expenses for living in this economy. Florida may be considered a tourist state, but there are still people who live here like myself who isn’t someone who has the luxury of throwing money at my problems. And it’s not just Florida I know that, but things seem to keep getting tougher for the ones who’ve had to go without.
My issue is the amount of time you have to put into your employers establishment, and most times you’re not paid what you’re worth. You’re paid based on what you’ve agreed too. The problem with that is, you may not know your worth. So you settle and work day in and day out for an employer who knows your worth, but isn’t paying you according to it. All because at that point of time you needed them more than they needed you. Also bills and financial obligations quickly humble you to accept whatever you can get.
This is also the reason many of us don’t take chances on living out our dreams. Some of us can’t afford to fail.
There is one marvelous thing about this time though;…. We’ve got social media. Since the start of YouTube it has simplified the path to success. People are being discovered daily because of this great invention called “Social Media”. The very best part about it is there are so many ways to get noticed. You have Podcasting, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter, Twitch, and the G.O.A.T YouTube. Along with the others I have not mentioned.
The point I’m trying to make is, even if you have a crazy busy work schedule there has been no greater time to live out your dreams than now; because all you need is at the tip of your fingers; making everything you’ve ever wanted very possible. It starts with you and your mindset towards success.
