So many of us believe that the only way to make money is through someone else. But think about it,
“How did they start making money?”
I’m sure they didn’t start off with a lot in the bank. Many times these big companies had an idea, and they took that leap of faith.
That’s all it takes is to believe in yourself, and you will go far. Many people seem to have forgotten that or just don’t believe. It’s sad that we have so many people going to jobs they hate everyday, without taking time out to invest in something they love doing. Always know if you promote heavily and you continue to perfect your craft, the customers will come. Kick the doubt out of your mind. Even if they don’t seem to come as fast as you think they should, keep pushing. Your break through is right around the corner.
Have you ever gone to sleep, and slept so good you didn’t want to get up?…
Not because the sleep was so good. Even though I’m sure that would be true. More because while you were asleep you had no worries. You didn’t have to think about going to work or what bills needed your attention. It was just you, and your bed.
That was the type of sleep I had just before waking. Then as soon as I woke up all those negative feelings came rushing back. I’m sure there’s going to be a silver lining coming from all of this negativity I’m experiencing. I just wish it would come already. I’m not going to bore you with the details that are my life. But I feel like I’m close to my lowest point.
I don’t want to make this one of those depressing blogs. I know….
I don’t want it to seem like I don’t have anything to be grateful for because I do. I have plenty to be thankful for. My mother, family, my job(s), my published book, this blog, my intelligence. Really… I could keep going. But the things I’m searching for in life have not made their way to me yet; things like freedom and financial stability.
I’m trying to keep a positive mindset, but sometimes I find myself going down the rabbit hole of negativity.
If you have gone through this stage at any point in life, make sure to share your story. I would love to read them. Who knows, my story maybe simliar to yours.
I’m on a new venture; once again. As you should already know, I have a book I recently published, a podcast I’m working on finding the right platform for, and a YouTube Channel in the making. When I say I’m working hard to gain my freedom, that’s exactly what I mean.
For years, I’ve said I don’t want to work for anyone. Now I’m finally putting in the work it will take in the long run to become my own boss. At the moment, I feel like I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do. I can’t explain enough how fulfilled I am to have written and completed my first published book. I have to admit though, I’ve bit off a little more than I can chew. So some of these ventures are going to take a back seat. They’re going to have to, once I go back to work, because I won’t have the time like I do now.
I know you’re probably wondering why I’ve chosen to write about this. Well….. because I want people to know dreams aren’t meant only for thinking about; their actually there as a driving force for you to act on. Why else would you have them?
Always know, no dream is to big for you to obtain. And if you really want it, you’re going to have to give it your blood sweat and tears to get it. Also, anything worth having isn’t going to be easy to get or keep. I don’t care if that’s a car, job, happiness, or fulfillment; you’re going to have to put in the work and keep working at what you want most, if you want to get and keep it.
I chose this as my opening statement because a lot of us deal with things, all because we believe we can’t or don’t deserve to have better. Or we just except our circumstances because we haven’t learned there are better ways of living.
I’m sure daily, you’ve gone through many unwanted, not so great feelings of emotion, that you’ve learned to stuff down, just to get through the day.
That isn’t they way life should be. You should never feel like, “I just need to get through it.”. Do you remember when you were a kid and all you could think of was what you would be able to do when you got grown?
Well, you’re grown now…. What are you doing about it? Do you have that life you’ve always dreamed of? Or are you living a life full of mediocrity, because you’re to scared to leave that box of comfort and complacency?
For a long time, I’ve let others determine how I walk my path in life. Not really taking on the responsibility of living the life I truly want, because I’m afraid of failing. But I’ve learned, failure is something I’m gonna to have to grow to except, if I want to make this life become that dream life I always wanted.
What I’ve learned on this two month vacation, I will take with me through life. During this time I really got to learn me all over again. What I learned during this time; I love people, I don’t like structured environments, I love freedom over any other feeling, and I’m strong enough without the aid of a relationship.
I have to say, learning all of this and gaining strength and confidence in myself is a gift I’ve always had, but because of past circumstances I lost that bold fun loving girl, I use to be. Because of those circumstances, I learned a long time ago how fit into the space I was given. For so long, I couldn’t express how I really felt, because there was always some form of retaliation once I did.
But the beautiful thing about becoming an adult is, you have more control over your energy, and who you allow to be in it. You don’t have to be around those people who bring you down, or the ones who only know you when they need something, or those “friends” who manipulate you into doing something you don’t want to. There isn’t anything wrong with shutting these people out of your life. Don’t let them make you feel like there is. Sometime you have to cut others off, so you can become the best version of “you”; and there’s nothing wrong with that. You even have Oprah telling you the same thing, so listen up and know those situations were given to you, so you could learn and grow from them.
Remember you have one life. What you decide to do with it is nobodies fault but your own. So when you get to the end of life; do you want to wonder would could have happened or are you going to have the balls to go out and make some s*** happen? The choice is yours.
Safe Never Got Anyone Anywhere.
If you are someone like myself who is or has developed an introverted personality; try everyday to change your reality. Sis it’s all in your head. The truth is, most people forget you as soon as you walk away; and chances are, you’re not doing anything they haven’t seen before, anyway. So get out your head and do you, without the fear of judgement; because the reality is no one’s judging you as hard as you’re judging yourself.
Have you ever been stuck in a rut, and didn’t know how you were going to get out? That was me before I started writing this blog. Day after day I would go to work and hate it. Don’t get me wrong I still hate it. But finding something I like to do, that also connects with others makes it all more bearable. Just to give you some knowledge as to what I do, that’s if you’ve never read any of my blog posts before. I work in retail, have been for over 13 years. Believe me, it wasn’t my first job choice but it gave me a check. That being said, I know that is the only reason I stayed, that and fear to try something different. But as the years passed I realized it wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, so I made some moves. I started working another job while still having the first. The second job wasn’t as mentally draining as the first, but it was very draining physically. I can remember days I fell asleep on the road rushing from one job, just to get ready to go to the next. I’m sure I’m not saying anything new, because half of us has, had or are either looking for our second job, right now.
That’s the one thing you shouldn’t do, get a second job. If anything, start something you can call your own. At least you know if you make a profit most if not all that money is going to you. I’m sure your probably like, “I don’t have money to start a business!” Truth is, some of the best business owners didn’t start out with that much money either, but they still persisted and made something out of nothing. It feels like that’s what a lot of us do not understand, as long as you have a vision and passion for making that vision a reality, there will always be someone interested in what you have to say, no matter the amount of haters. Just know, you’re definitely going to have people down playing or talking negatively about your efforts to make something out of yourself. All because they’re afraid to go after what they want, like they say, ‘Misery loves company’. That’s what you have to remember when you start talking to people about your dreams or plans to excel in life. Don’t let negative people deter you from what you know was put in you to do.
Prime example, This past Sunday I reached work took my first customer and the conversation with him led to my current ventures of promoting this blog. He said, “Don’t you think it’s a little too late?” At first it got under my skin and pissed me off, but instead of getting mad I replied with, “It’s never too late.” The way I viewed his response started to affect me, but I didn’t let it get that far. Maybe it was the coffee that had me in such a positive mood or I know that I’m gonna be alright because I’m finally doing what I was meant to do. Either way I know he responded that way because most of us are taught that once you’re in a job for a long time, you should work there up until retirement and collect a check. I’m sorry, that isn’t the way my mind works. The way I see it, you can change your mind, job, interest, anything, as long as you still have breath in your body. Age has nothing to do with that, and never let anyone tell you different. Most times people talk just to hear themselves talk, and more than half of the time they’re not saying anything of value. So I say to you, if you have a dream to do something that you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t, either because of fear or circumstance, just do it. You’re not getting any younger and you’re going to feel nothing but regret if you don’t. So live your best life and stop allowing others to dumb you down.
There’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and that is be a female weight lifter. If you go back in the archives you’ll see that this is something I’ve always thought about but never worked at. Reason being, I never believed I could do it, also I was living for other people and not myself. Now that I’m getting older I’m starting to realize more than ever, you only get one chance at life. So do what you want with it while your still here. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve second guessed myself, thinking of what people would think knowing that’s what I’m working toward. I didn’t want to hear people tell me I couldn’t do it. Because it seems like when ever you want to make a change to your life there is always someone who wants to tell you, you shouldn’t because of what ever reason. I’ve learned that’s when you have to push yourself even harder, because the nay Sayers will get under your skin and make you believe you can’t do what it is you know you can.
Even if they don’t get under your skin, they’re still winning if your not pursuing your dreams and desires. In a way your still letting them control what you do with your life. Going through life, your always going to find someone that is going to tell you, you can’t do something. That’s when the fun starts when you start to prove them wrong. You have to prove people wrong so they know, anything is possible. If you ever wondered why people tell you certain things aren’t possible, it’s because they don’t believe it’s possible for them. They may not have malicious intent, but sometimes that’s the way it comes off. Don’t read to much into. Most times they don’t know any better. But one thing you must remember is no one can tell you what’s good for you, only you can do that. Most times when there is something you feel strongly about, it’s because it was put in you to pursue it. When it comes to asking other people their opinion on whether you should pursue it, of course they’re going to say ‘No’. That’ because they don’t have your vision and they don’t know what your capable of. Also it could be jealousy sometimes. That’s why you listen to yourself first, because you know what you can and can’t do.
I’m finally starting to find my own voice, so I’m definitely going to start listening to it. I’m nearing my 40s and this body building thing has always been something I was in love with. I’m finally going to give it my time and effort. I have to make this promise to myself, so I can hold myself accountable and work towards being a lot more consistent when it comes to my health and working out. It makes you feel sooo good. Also it runs in my blood. My grandfather was a weight lifter and a title holder, and I know I wouldn’t be honoring him if I never reached my potential. I already have the body structure for it. I’ve just been lazy over the years.
I’m also going to start inserting videos into my posts. As a diary to myself to mark my changes and health. If you would like to join you’re more than welcome.
Always remember to pursue your dreams. They’re yours for a reason. No one knows what your capable of, so give all you got for the rest of your days and there’s no way you can go wrong!
I’m ready for life to change for me. I know things are not going to be the same, there’s no way they can be. I’m praying for big positive changes to come in to my life. I’m finally finding things I’m interested in that I want to do. This is a big turn around from the way I use to think. For me, life was just ample opportunity to have free time. That was before I started learning of ways to make money online. Truth is, I’m still learning. But it’s nice to know there are other ways to make money other than going to someone’s establishment making them money while your making peanuts.
I’ve realized the people that reap big benefits are the ones who take risks. That’s a lesson I’m learning more and more everyday, and it’s actually fun learning all the ways there is to make money without leaving your home. I’m still researching, but I promise once I find something that works, I will definitely let it be known. The one thing I’ve noticed about these online business’ is there’s a lot to learn if you want to go into business for yourself. It’s not as easy as a lot of online business owners like to make it seem in the beginning, if it is there’s a problem. With any business you have to study it first and get all your ducks in a row before selling. There are going to be countless hours invested learning about the business. Once that happens it may become a little easier because you’ve learned enough about it to want to learn more. Another thing to keep in mind is, the internet is constantly changing and improving. So that means you’re going to have to keep up with the changes of the market if you want to make sure your business is going to continue to do well. There’s no such thing as autopilot, at least not in my vocabulary, because there’s always ways to improve.
