Dreams of Becoming My Own BOSS

Hey Friends,

I know it’s been a little while since I have written something, other than parts for DESIRE. But recently I’ve been consumed with trying to get this book ready and a couple of other things, that come with life.

I’m sure becoming a best selling author will happen for me. I just have to be okay with the amount of time it may take for me to get there. One things for sure, if you don’t have people in the public eye or someone that everyone knows and loves, it’s going to be next to impossible to get anything done without posting a video or being in some kind of scandal. I don’t plan on doing any of those things; but I guess you could say I’m a little impatient because I at least expected to get one book sell today. Doesn’t help that something I’m extremely excited about is being basically ignored by my boyfriend. The good thing is my mom was happy for me, and in turn that made me happy; until his negative energy rubbed of on me.

Also, since I’ve been working on getting this book out, I’ve taken a partial vacation that he doesn’t agree with. I understand he expects me to go to work. But I really hope he doesn’t believe a conventional job is something I plan on keeping. If he does, he’s in for a rude awakening. One thing for sure and two things for certain, once I make a name for myself as an author and I start to make the money necessary to live the life of my dreams; I’m going to dabble in other things. I promise you, I’m not going to stop at only writing, because there is so much more I want to do.

I excepted a long time ago that I don’t think like the average person my age or older. Most of them believe the only way to make it is through having a degree or finding a job that gives 401k and benefits. I want to be the one who creates my own benefits. Why should I feel like I have to work for someone to survive? It’s called life for a reason. Every time you allow work to take a whole day from you, you’re not living; you are merely surviving. Think about all the times you said no to doing something because of work and the “security” it brings.  I put security in quotations marks because job security is an illusion. That’s something they get us to believe in, until they have no use for you anymore. I know you may not want to believe it, but that’s true about a lot of companies. Companies back in the day probably kept people on because they felt a sense of loyalty to their employees; but these days many employers don’t even know your name. Many of them only know you through your employee number or from your work ethic. Owners, sometime all the way down to your managers, don’t care about getting to know you. Most are only interested in your ability to complete the job.

That’s why I do and will always encourage anyone that has dreams of being their own boss, because that’s where the freedom is. After all that’s all most of us want anyway.
